Design is complicated and nuanced and deep. I try to focus more on the development side but often need to put my developer hat on.
The more design you can learn the faster you can get over any design roadblocks and keep developing.
There have been many times where design roadblocks turn into rabbit holes in huge swaths of time is lost. For example, the dreaded logo in the wrong format. Countless time wasted on redrawing assets as vector graphics with the pen tool, matching typefaces and fonts, testing colors, etc.
Parallax was another rabbit hole, Gutenberg editor customization another. Animation isn’t absolutely necessary but good to have in the toolbox. Focus on the basics and let the icing come later.
